If you are like most people, you have only seen the power of an F-16 fighter jet on TV or in the movies. Now, through the efforts of the US Air Force and Tommy Hummel at Affordable Trailer Sales in San Antonio, TX, millions of people can get an up-close look at a F-16 jet engine. The 20' ConQuest trailer with a finished interior package and a fold-out platform is making the rounds at NASCAR and Busch series events throughout the US to promote the Air Force and to help with recruiting. The engine mechanically operates on 110v power and rotates to allow people to view all sides of it. Tommy says that the program has been so successful that the Air Force has three more in the works. They plan on making the trailers even more interactive than the first one. Now that’s a high-powered trailer!
Citgo recently purchased a Legacy motorcycle trailer from Trailers of the East Coast to pull behind a new Hummer H2, promoting their title sponsorship of the Bassmaster Tour, the professional fishing tour for the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (BASS). The rig travels to Citgo locations throughout the country to promote the tour. The H2 has an inflatable “pond” that flows off the roof, allowing consumers to stop by and cast into the bass’ mouths for prizes. They create a carnival-like atmosphere with high-energy music and a prize wheel for everyone to spin. Clint Junker says the tour has been well received by Citgo and its customers, giving Pace tremendous exposure wherever they go. The low profile design of the Legacy and the custom graphics package that Citgo put on the truck and trailer makes it look like the H2 and the Legacy were built for one another. Now there’s a fish story that you can believe!
Karen Meyers from Advantage Hitch & Trailer in Clearwater, Florida has a customer that is a real “cut up”, so to speak. The Cuttin’ Up Barber Shop recently ordered a 24' Rallye to serve as its mobile barber shop. It travels around the Clearwater area to senior communities and provides a great service to the people who may not have the means or ability to go out and visit a barber shop. The trailer is a standard 24' Rallye that was customized by Cuttin’ Up. They installed three cutting stations complete with mirrors and sinks. They made really efficient use of space by building a bench in the front of the trailer for a waiting area that actually holds the gray water tank and there’s a cabinet with a countertop towards the back of the unit that holds the fresh water tank. He built the roadside wall out three inches to hide all of the electrical and plumbing work. Cuttin’ Up got the idea for the trailer from talking to their customers. It seems that some of them only got their hair cut when they could get a ride to the barbershop. Well, now Cuttin’ Up brings the barbershop right to them. Just another creative use of a Pace American trailer.
With the NFL season kicking off right around the corner, Pace American is going to have a major presence with the defending NFC champion Carolina Panthers. Matt Simpson from Trailers of the East Coast scored a touchdown by selling this flat top AeroSport vending trailer to the Panthers this past summer. The trailer was built by the Fitzgerald plant and then decaled by the team. As you can see, this is one sharp looking trailer. They plan to sell Panthers and NFL merchandise out of the trailer at all 10 (two preseason and eight regular season) of their home games, which means that over 700,000 fans will see the Pace trailer in action. If the Panthers duplicate their success from last year, that number will be even higher. With this new merchandising trailer, you can bet that the Panthers will be as successful selling merchandise as they are at winning football games. Nice job, Matt!
